This does not address a very important aspect of walking. Let’s say it is 10,000 per day.

Does it make a difference how and when you get those steps?

People in non sedentary jobs hit 10,000 easily. Myself, unless I walk for an hour or more, will not get them.

This brings in the question of cardio. Hard to get walking. Especially all at once. But a higher heart rate due to a constantly moving job is probably healthy, even if not cardio.

The only thing this article says, and I agree, is it’s better to move than not.
