STOP STOP STOP perpetuating the concept that the stock market is the same as compound interest. Just because it may average x% over y years does not mean your investments will. Investing diversely over many years is necessary. But telling someone they will have 1M in 30 years sounds great until 30 years from now it is worth much less.

And where did you pick those arbitrary numbers of how much to have in savings at each decade. I at least hope you didn’t really mean a savings account. That’s really stupid. No compounding there.
