Some people are just waiting to die. I think my dad felt that way most of his life.
As as kids go, my 32 year old son is purchasing his second home. Started off modest and now, 5 years later, is able to scale up to what will probably be his home for the next 20 years. Further away, but good for him. Figured it all out on his own. Financed both on his own. I guess I gave some advice.
Him not being into consumerism helps.
