My journey has been similar. 30 years self employed. Then took full time and did go from software architect to engineering manager. I like what I do but in a couple of years, if possible, at 65 I plan to go work optional. Just take on part time or contract or no work. I’ve been remote since 32 years old, so hard to imagine otherwise. Not on a farm, but on a lake. But too many monitors to work outside.
