I have to speak from the other side. That was 6 years after 9/11. Islam itself was not the target but Sunni (years prior it was the Shia). More specifically Salfi and Wahabi. Why? Bin Laden. He was no fake threat.

Not that everything domestically (FBI) or internationally (CIA) was done well, but it’s a slippery slope when attacks on our soil take place. Inter agency communication sucks and they added homeland security on top.
