I don’t want to compare myself to full time writers. I’ve been self employed for 28 years. Love to teach and writing a few tech articles a month is a way of teaching.

I don’t meditate yet but I do understand the importance of reading and exercise. Every morning, if nothing else, I spend a half hour reading medium articles from all areas. Since programming is a sit down thing I usually walk or hike a minimum of 40 minutes a day. In warmer weather I add lunchtime cycling of 6–12 miles.

I’m 58 and these things just become more important as we age.

You have good suggestions people should start now and continue.

Self-Employed Software Developer, Trainer, Consultant. Keeping up to date. I’ve noticed in over 28 years of programming, one’s current skills have a shelf life.
