I don’t necessarily agree. In many cases one’s work helps the company grow and when the company does well, you stay employed. In some cases get bonuses.

The work part of one’s life can be fulfilling when seen as both parties working for the benefit of the other.

Your negative outlook creates a self fulfilling prophecy of unhappiness.
