I don’t know where you find your boomers. You seem to have selected just a few from a huge pool of us that are still hard at work. I’m 59, which means 7 years away from retirement and having to deal with ageism in the work place. Many of us have decreasing income after 55.

The big difference is we have already raised our kids. But when we were your age we dealt with very similar things you describe.

After college I taught high school, taught as adjunct faculty and did other work. I know what it’s like. Especially when you start raising a family.
