I did it for 30 years. Took awhile to settle in to quarterly estimated taxes, contributions to a SEP IRA, paying for my own vacations, etc. but it worked. I was the sole wage earner so could not fall back on a partner’s plan for healthcare. And that changes every year. It just becomes a bill. Chosen to take a full time position. Tired of getting clients. But now I have the option of either or both.
